Igor Shunevich recalled that the reform of the Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen (BOOR), of which he reported to the Head of State a year and a half ago, is currently underway, and the main decisions have already been made. During this time, BOOR has taken significant efforts to improve the work in general, as well as the hunting industry as a whole.

“This is a traditional Belarusian occupation, this is an industry in which the state invests huge money and should receive a corresponding return, not only in the number of association members, but also material return, interest in a healthy lifestyle. In this regard, we have planned a range of events to popularise this lifestyle,” noted Igor Shunevich.

The BOOR Chairman presented to the President the organisation’s innovation aimed at popularising hunting (including trophy hunting) and developing internal competition, “We followed the path of the global trend of the hunting industry and created ‘The Great Belarusian Five’ and ‘The Great Belarusian Seven’ nominations in Belarus.

A special sign created by Belarusian jewellers has been established for trophy hunters: ‘The Great Belarusian Five’ – for women and ‘The Great Belarusian Seven’ – for men. They will be awarded to hunters who obtain the designated trophies within a certain period of time.

“This is an absolutely world-class approach that I saw in Africa,” Igor Shunevich shared with the Belarusian leader.

He donated the first copy of the sign to the Museum of the Independence Palace.
