The book contains photographic documents and historical materials characterising the time when Western Belarus and Eastern Belarus existed and when their reunification took place. “Using concrete examples and materials, the book shows how people lived in Western Belarus and how Eastern Belarus developed, how our ancestors lived under Polish occupation before the re-unification process,” Igor Sergeyenko explained, adding that the book was published in two languages: Russian and Belarusian.

The authors of the collection are the famous local history expert, historian, and collector Vladimir Likhodedov and Doctor of Historical Sciences, deputy Vyacheslav Danilovich. “This is the first copy of the book so far. At the authors’ request, I handed [it] over to the President,” the Chairman of the House of Representatives said.

The presentation of the publication itself will take place on September 17th: on National Unity Day. It is symbolic that the opening of the regular session of the House of Representatives falls on this date this year. According to the Constitution, this happens on the third Tuesday of September, which is September 17th this year.

“I reported to the Head of State on which bills and blocks will be submitted for consideration both on the first day and during the session as a whole,” the Speaker of the lower house of Parliament revealed the details of his report to the President. “The draft laws relate to the criminal law sphere, education, social protection issues, the economy, and a number of others, including the defence sphere. During this week, active work is underway in the commissions in the areas of their activity.”
