Lukashenko noted Belarus' interest in establishing strong ties with Botswana

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi on the national holiday: Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted that Botswana is now a country with a high level of political stability and socio-economic development, whose foreign policy approaches are based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, which are close to Belarus.

"I am sure that Belarusian-Botswana relations have significant potential for expanding political dialogue and trade and economic co-operation," the President stressed.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Belarus is interested in establishing strong bilateral ties in agriculture, food security, industrial co-operation, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals and education. The country is also ready to offer its accumulated experience to train Botswana citizens in areas of priority for their economy.

"I hope that strengthening interstate co-operation through joint efforts will soon yield significant results," the President noted.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Mokgweetsi Masisi good health, longevity and success, also wishing peace and confidence in the future to the friendly people of Botswana.
