Lukashenko congratulated President of Brazil on national holiday: 202nd anniversary of independence

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of the Federal Republic of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the people of this country on the national holiday: 202nd anniversary of Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

"Belarus, committed to the ideas of peaceful settlement of any conflicts, highly appreciates the initiatives of Brazil, which seeks to contribute to building a more just and balanced world order. I am sure that the G20 chairmanship will allow your country to strengthen its international authority, achieve practical results in defending national interests, as well as make a feasible contribution to supporting sustainable development, rethinking the system of global governance," the congratulatory message reads.

The President also stressed the great importance of the BRICS format for ensuring responsible and constructive global partnership. "I am convinced that our personal meeting on the side-lines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan this October will provide an opportunity to significantly expand mutually beneficial co-operation and synchronise joint work, including on global integration platforms," the Head of State noted.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Luis Inacio Lula da Silva good health and inexhaustible energy, also wishing peace and prosperity to the people of Brazil.
