Lukashenko congratulated people of the Republic of Cyprus on Independence Day

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the people of the Republic of Cyprus on Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

"Belarusians sympathise with Cypriots and sincerely speak out for the support and deepening of bilateral relations based on long-standing and good traditions of friendship and spiritual closeness. I am sure that the creation of further barriers between our peoples does not meet common interests, hinders equal dialogue and constructive interaction for the sake of strengthening the independence of both countries and improving the well-being of their citizens," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

The Head of State noted that Minsk and Nicosia, despite all the difficulties of today, have significant potential to restore the lost ties and form new – primarily business and humanitarian – ones.

The President wished the people of Cyprus peace and successful implementation of all plans and good undertakings.
