Lukashenko responded to unfounded claims against Belarus: independent policy pursued in the republic

Belarus has always defended its position based on international law and justice – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko as he was receiving credentials from foreign ambassadors today

The Head of State noted with regret that peaceful, prosperous and sovereign Belarus causes irritation among some Western politicians, and this irritation is developing into prejudice. “They believe their one-sided outdated perception of the world order, in which people are divided into the first and second classes, is normal. They are imposing sanctions on those who disagree with their point of view, also introducing various restrictions. Minsk has been facing such injustice for many years, for almost the entire sovereign history. Nevertheless, we take the liberty to pursue an independent policy – both internal and external. We always defend our position based on international law and justice,” he stressed.

According to the Belarusian leader, unfounded claims are often made against Belarus: ‘i.e. about the promotion of illegal migration’. “I would like to remind you that Belarus, within the limits of its international obligations and available capabilities, suppresses illegal migration channels and fights transnational crime,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stated. “If there are any problems related to migration, then these are not the questions for us. These are the questions for those who invited migrants to their country. We take human care of people who have been forced to leave their countries and seek asylum in the EU. Moreover, we are doing all this without anyone's help, while being under the pressure of illegal sanctions.”
