Lukashenko outlined priorities for co-operation with Algeria, Mauritania and Burundi

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has outlined the priorities for co-operation with Algeria, Mauritania and Burundi at today’s ceremony of presentation of credentials by foreign ambassadors

The Head of State underlined that our country is ready for active industrial co-operation, liaisons in the areas of food security and high technologies with Algeria, “I am convinced our tractors, harvesters, trucks, grain storages will be useful for the Algerian economy. I also express my hope for the continuation of fruitful joint work on international platforms.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko warmly welcomed Mohamed Deman Hamar, the Ambassador of Mauritania, which currently chairs the African Union, “This year Belarus and Mauritania are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. I cordially congratulate you on this significant date. I am sure our contacts need to be intensified. I propose to identify two or three flagship mutually beneficial projects where we can be useful to each other and start implementing them.”

Belarus is also keen to develop friendly ties with Burundi, attaching special importance to the economic component of interstate relations.

“Taking into account the development of agriculture and mining in Burundi, we can offer a wide range of machine building products, including freight, construction, quarry and agricultural machinery. Moreover, Belarus has significant opportunities to train specialists needed to work in various sectors of the economy,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised.
