Lukashenko advocates intensification of agricultural co-operation between Belarus and Rostov Region

At a meeting with the Governor of Russia’s Rostov Region, Vasily Golubev, the President of Belarus noted that the two states’ course aimed at intensification of agricultural liaisons is right, but key industries should also not be neglected

“As a result, we have managed to preserve and develop a number of unique competencies. These will help us ensure employment and food security in the two states. Moreover, the Rostov Region is a serious player in Russia to ensure food security, and it is a very successful Russian territory,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The Head of State drew attention to Belarus’ possibilities, “We see good reserves for deepening co-operation in the field of the agricultural and industrial complex. The Belarusian side is ready to share any accumulated experience it has. If we had such opportunities in agriculture as the Rostov Region has, it would be great. However, the Lord did not give us such opportunities, but we are still adapting to the current situation (the climate is changing), and it is quite possible that we will soon apply the same scheme of agricultural cultivation as you use in the Rostov Region. Accordingly, your experience is very necessary and useful to us today.”

According to the President, Belarus is ready to share everything it has in the agro-industrial complex – including personnel training and agricultural machinery. “Our agro–industrial complex has wide opportunities, including seed material, the latest technologies in crop production and animal husbandry – such as construction of modern dairy complexes, their proper equipment and maintenance,” he stated.
