Heads of Belarus’ NOC and Children of Asia Games International Committee agreed on further close co-operation
President of Belarus’ National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko held a meeting with President of the Children of Asia International Committee Vladimir Maksimov, sb.by reports with reference to the NOC website
Viktor Lukashenko noted that relations between Belarus’ NOC, the Russian Olympic Committee and the Children of Asia International Committee are developing dynamically. He emphasised that participation in such competitions is a great event for Belarusian young athletes, “Just recently, we honoured our winners and prize-holders of the Games. It is very important for young people that they can perform under the national flag and in accompaniment of the national anthem. We will be happy to accept invitations to the upcoming competitions, and we will definitely come as a strong squad."
In turn, Vladimir Maksimov stressed the important role of Belarusian athletes in these international competitions, as they occupy high positions in the medal standings. He once again expressed gratitude to the team of Belarus that took part in the 8th Summer International Games Children of Asia, noting that the event in Yakutsk will remain in the memory of the participants for a long time, for whom the Games will serve as motivation to train hard and achieve even more significant results, “I am very glad that we have developed friendly relations. The URBAN Games project is now being prepared, and we will be happy to see our friends from Belarus there as well. Of course, we are inviting your teams to participate in the next Children of Asia competitions in the winter and summer seasons."
According to the NOC, the parties agreed to continue to intensively support the established close co-operation in the field of physical culture and sports.
