Future fate of Belarusian political exile disclosed by Gigin

Belarusian political emigration will face a bitter fate, believes the Chairman of the Republican Znanie Belarusian Society, Vadim Gigin

Commenting on the Belarusian political emigration’s future during his talk with Alfa Radio, Mr. Gigin noted that it will experience ‘a bitter fate since it is now already splitting into groups’.

As an example, the expert turned to history. “When Fidel Castro came to power as a result of the Cuban Revolution, the Cuban emigration split into an incredible number of groups: 184! This indicates that the Belarusian one is still far from being a record holder. The Central Intelligence Agency only managed to somehow unite [Cuban exiles] into a common organisation, but then failed again,” he said.

Mr. Gigin added, “The Belarusian emigration will face the same situation: internal contradictions will intensify and, naturally, discontent on the part of their lords [pro-Western forces that finance the opposition] will increase. This political scenario is inevitable, and the defeat will become its outcome.”
