NATO countries approved Rutte as next Secretary General

At a meeting in Brussels the ambassadors of thirty-two NATO member states have approved the candidacy of Mark Rutte, who lost the Dutch election for the post of PM, to serve as the alliance’s chief for the next five years – as noted by a representative of the NATO press service, TASS reports

“The ambassadors of the NATO countries have approved the candidacy of the Dutch PM for the post of Secretary General of the alliance,” the press service noted.

Mark Rutte will take up his duties from October, replacing Norway’s Jens Stoltenberg as NATO Secretary General.
