Merkel: severing economic ties with China would not benefit EU

In an interview with Le Point magazine, Angela Merkel said, “European interests do not always coincide with American ones. The United States has also maintained intensive trade with China for a long time. Now that America and China are moving away from each other, Europe is under pressure."

In her opinion, the EU should be able to find its own way in relations with China, which will meet its interests, “I really hope so, because the rupture of relations between China and the European economy will not bring anything good."
