Baerbock: Ukraine settlement a goal of visit to China

Germany’s FM Annalena Baerbock said one of the goals of her Beijing visit is looking for ways to settle the Ukraine conflict peacefully, TASS reports
“A fair peace process is needed like never before,” she said and called on China to take part in the settlement effort. “European and Asian security are intrinsically linked,” Ms. Baerbock added.

Speaking at Valdai earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow is ready for peace talk provided they are not based on Ukrainian hopes and dreams. The Russian leader reiterated that any negotiations should be based on Istanbul proposals, but account for today's realities on the ground.
