Media: Austin unlikely to permit deep strikes into Russia during visit to Kiev

On his visit to Kiev, the US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin is unlikely to make any new statements on military aid to Ukraine, or lifting restrictions on long-range strikes into the Russian Federation with US-provided weapons, TASS reports


According to The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon chief plans to merely reiterate the USA’s ‘firm commitment to the [Ukrainian] war effort’. WSJ adds that this will probably be Austin’s last trip to Kiev as the head of the DoD.
