Lukashenko: Russian Export Centre has resources and reserves to support Belarus-Russia relations

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has met today with the Director General of Russian Export Centre JSC, Veronika Nikishina, with participation of Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister, Nikolai Snopkov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus, Boris Gryzlov

Welcoming the guest at the Palace of Independence, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “You have been observing the situation developing in the relations between Belarus and Russia recently. Your powerful group of companies is just at the crossroads of all these relations, having resources and certain reserves to support the relations between Belarus and Russia.”

The Belarusian leader stressed that the issues dealt with by the Russian Export Centre are among the most important areas for any state, “That's why it was very important for me to meet with you and discuss the issues. Maybe you can suggest something, you have experience in this regard. [I also wished] our chief economist in the country [First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov] to listen to our conversations and make many efforts to support the areas of our co-operation.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko also asked Veronika Nikishina to convey the best wishes to her spouse: the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Andrei Belousov, “I have a very good attitude towards him.”

As noted by Ms. Nikishina, she represents a group of companies of the Russian Export Centre. These are four organisations united within a single holding.

"Given the strategic importance of trade and economic co-operation between Russia and Belarus, for us – the Russian Export Centre group, Belarus is a key country in which we implement our entire arsenal of financial and non-financial measures in the interests of Russian and Belarusian companies, ultimately in the interests of our economies," Ms. Nikishina stressed.
