“Today, despite external pressure, Belarus and Russia are confidently moving forward, developing Union State integration and strengthening humanitarian ties,” the President said.

The Head of State noted the symbolism of the fact that the current meeting is taking place in the year of the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders. “These days we remember those who gave their lives for our native Belarus. We thank the Soviet soldiers – our heroes – for the Victory and the opportunity to develop and make plans for the future. One of the main lessons we learned from that terrible war is that fraternal peoples should always be together, shoulder to shoulder overcome emerging challenges, defend statehood, our traditions and values. Only together can we ensure the safety and well-being of our people,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
