Financial activities of Polish NOC being audited
Inspectors of the Supreme Audit Office have begun checking the financial activities of the Polish Olympic Committee, TASS reports
The Supreme Audit Office spokesman was quoted by businessinsider.pl as saying, “All contracts implemented by the Polish Olympic Committee and financed from public funds, including from ministries, are the subjects of the audit.”
It is noted that the inspection – being held at the request of Polish Sports Minister Slawomir Nitras – will last until the end of February 2025. In August, he said that, in the period from 2022 to 2024, the state budget allocated almost 786 million Zlotys (about $196m) for the development of Olympic sports in Poland, and that a detailed check was required on what those funds had been spent for.
