Expert named reasons why Ukraine won’t be able to join EU

President of the European Council Charles Michel has already announced that the EU will discuss the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in December this year. Some of the reasons why Ukraine won’t be able to become a member of the association were named by the Deputy Director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), a member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Nikita Danyuk in his talk with 1tv.ru

Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expressed confidence that a decision would be made on the immediate start of negotiations with the possibility of an early and extraordinary entry into the EU. According to him, negotiations can start as early as June.

“Ukraine cannot achieve success from the military point of view. But the West will try to use it as a battering ram to the end, to fight to the last Ukrainian, to send all available ammunition to Kiev. Ukraine’s accession to the EU is unthinkable for several reasons. First, it is not clear whether Ukraine will survive as a state. Secondly, in order to become a member of the EU, it is necessary to carry out a large number of reforms which is a huge amount of work. I think that even if there is something left of Ukraine, they will not be able to fulfil it even in a hundred years,” Nikita Danyuk shared his opinion.

According to him, Ukraine’s accession to the EU will also be extremely disadvantageous for the bloc.

“The entry into the EU of a country with a lot of debt, a direct conflict with Russia will mean the very decline of Europe. It seems to me that Europe has long wanted Ukraine to lose. Despite the assistance provided to Kiev by European countries, all of them, one way or another, are waiting for Russia to win. The only way for Ukraine to join the EU is to become part of another state. There is another option that the Americans will put pressure on Brussels, and they would agree that Ukraine already meets all the requirements. But it seems to me that such a scenario is unlikely to be realised,” the speaker added.
