European Parliament to allocate 145m Euros to Moldova
The MEP from Romania, Siegfried Muresan, noted that the European Parliament plenum decided to provide Moldova with another package of financial assistance in the amount of 145m Euros, RIA Novosti reports
In late January 2023, the European Commission decided to provide macro-financial assistance to Moldova in the amount of 145m Euros, and this decision was to be approved by the European Parliament.
"The European Parliament plenum has voted overwhelmingly for macro-financial assistance in the amount of 145m Euros for Moldova. The decision was adopted by 561 votes in favour, 43 against and 20 abstentions, and it once again shows that the European Parliament is united in the issue of assistance to Moldova," Mr. Muresan said.
It is clarified that 45m Euros of the proposed 145m are gratuitous funds, another 100m are loans on favourable terms.
