Prospective head of Pentagon has warned against involvement in Ukraine
Former US Army officer Pete Hegseth proposed by President elect Donald Trump to the post of the United States Defence Secretary has previously warned the American government against involvement in Ukraine, TASS reports citing CNN

Reports say that during his time as a TV show host Hegseth warned against ‘US involvement in Ukrainian affairs’ saying it could end in a nuclear war with Russia.
Hegseth has degrees from Princeton and Harvard. He’s also a combat veteran, having served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He’s worked as a host at Fox News TV channel for 8 years, wrote several books, and was in charge of two veteran protection organisations. Trump is convinced that in his new position Hegseth will be ‘a courageous and patriotic champion of our 'Peace through Strength' policy’.
