National Statistical Committee: 5,600+ heritage sites included in state list of Belarus’ historical and cultural values

As of the end of 2023, 5,683 heritage sites in Belarus were included in the state list of historical and cultural values, sb.by reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee review dedicated to Day of Cultural Workers celebrated in the republic on the second Sunday of October

According to the source, there are 2,226 archaeological monuments, 1,838 architectural monuments, 1,217 historical monuments, 67 monuments of art, 14 monuments of urban planning, 4 protected areas, 181 intangible historical and cultural values and 136 tangible movable historical and cultural values in Belarus.

In addition, four Belarusian objects are recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
