Construction of Bayraktar UAV production plant launched in Ukraine
The construction of a plant for production of Turkish Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles has started in Ukraine, TASS reports with reference to the Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshyn
As noted by the Ukrainian minister, the construction of this facility was discussed two years ago. “If you are talking about the Bayraktar plant, which has been already discussed in Ukraine for a couple of years, then its construction has already begun. It is now being built in practice, rather than on paper,” he said.
According to Mr. Kamyshyn, the memorandum signed with Turkiye regarding the construction of this plant also refers to other facilities. Meanwhile, he did not specify which ones.
Last month, Turkish Baykar CEO, Haluk Bayraktar, announced the company’s plans to start production of Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci combat UAVs in Ukraine in 2025.
