SB. Belarus Segodnya observer named strategic task for Belarus

Anglo-Saxon mono-polarity is coming to an end, and it is now important to ensure that – in the process of forming a new world order – Belarus is not on the outskirts, but close to the decision-making centre. As noted by an observer of the Belarus Segodnya Publishing House, Andrei Mukovozchik, the republic should do everything possible to help in creating this pole, and this is its strategic task.

The Alfa Radio programme host, Polina Konoga, stressed that Belarus applied for the SCO membership in July, and a meeting of the heads of state was held in Samarkand in September – with participation of President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The Belarusian leader said then that Minsk supports the expansion of international liaisons and the SCO co-operation with other regional structures, such as the CSTO, the CIS and the EAEU. This can create a foundation for strengthening the Eurasian partnership. Aleksandr Lukashenko also voiced the idea that the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation is transforming from regional to a global one.

“What is happening in the world? On the one hand, the Anglo-Saxons are frantically trying to cling to the ice dome, from the height of which they ruled the world. They understand that nothing will work anymore, especially to move over and let someone else in there. This is the system of ‘the king of the mountain’, monopoly. If they slip out of there, they will have to fall – and history will show its depth. They do not want this, so they will fight to the last Ukrainian and Pole for this monopoly position. However, on the other hand, the world – while steadily and revolutionarily developing – has come to the point that many countries are no longer satisfied with the monopoly on opinion, on war, on the use of violence by the Anglo-Saxons. There has long been a feeling around the globe that the world order is unfair, and that it cannot continue like this. It is very important that all the opponents of the monopolar Anglo-Saxon world are now coming together. This mono-polarity is coming to an end," Mr. Mukovozchik stressed.

Making a reference to the President's statement, the observer noted that it is very important for Belarus now not to miss the moment of assembling a new global structure: the republic should find itself not on the outskirts, but close to the centre of decision-making.

“The second pole is being formed, but it is unclear how it will all progress. Belarus’ opinion should be taken into account in the system of the new world order, and its interests should not be neglected. We are not a geopolitical player, but at the moment of creation of this new pole, we can get close to it and transform from an ordinary country into its strategic ally. Belarus should do everything possible to help the pole and the iceberg form – dragging ice floes and clearing the path. This is our strategic task,” Mr. Mukovozchik concluded.
