Belarus’ PM: intensification of exports to far arc countries connected with Lukashenko’s foreign policy activity

Over the four months of 2024, Belarus expanded its export supplies to the markets of the far arc countries by more than $300m – as stated by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel

Speaking about the prospects of distant regions, Belarus’ PM noted, “The issue of diversification of our exports is not lifted from the agenda. Moreover, the development of exports to the far arc countries has always been a priority for us. Now it is especially important to balance possible problems in any one market. Over the four months of this year, we have expanded our export supplies to the markets of the far arc countries by more than $300m. Belarusian exports to these countries on the African continent increased 3.9 times. Of course, this is due to the President’s foreign policy activity. I’m referring not only to the Head of State’s visits to these countries, but also to his meetings with the leaders of these states at various international venues. The visit of the government delegation to Egypt and a range of other commercial projects are also bearing fruit. We’ve approved a programme of co-operation with African countries for the current year, and tasks have been brought to everyone; these are clearly calculated and based on the real needs of these states and the capabilities of Belarus’ manufacturers to meet this demand.”

Noting that the Belarusian government leadership has enough invitations to visit certain countries, Mr. Golovchenko underlined, “Of course, we can’t sit still. They are waiting for us, and they are waiting for us in many places. The Foreign Ministry is working hard to put together a schedule of our contacts. Belarus is expected on absolutely all continents, and the explanation is simple: we conduct our policy openly, sincerely and never loom over any state. We don’t teach anyone, we don’t tell anyone how to live and how to build their own policy. That’s probably why we’re appreciated: for our sincere approach.”
