Belarus’ Prosecutor General explained why trials over deceased Nazis are needed

The trials over deceased Nazis are important in order to restore a full picture of the crimes – as stated by the Prosecutor General of Belarus, Andrei Shved, the Emergencies’ Ministry’s Telegram channel reports

"The issue is not that we want to condemn some mythical dead punishers, starting with Hitler. This is not the point. The key is that the verdict of our national court should describe criminal acts in order to restore a full picture of crimes," Mr. Shved said.

The Prosecutor General reported on the availability of information regarding 400 still living SS men. "They are mostly Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians. Most of them are hiding in Latin America and Canada. It is clear that Canada will not give them away. The living descendants who go on marches in Riga and Vilnius will also not be given away, but the work is underway with Argentina and other states," he noted.
