Ambassador: Belarus, Russia developing new projects, including in aviation
Belarus and the Russian Federation are developing a new pool of projects – as informed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia, Aleksandr Rogozhnik, in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel, sb.by reports
“The strategy that Belarus has chosen to work with the Russian Federation (when each official is assigned to a certain region) has shown its relevance. After all, any work is based on the relationship between people. I direct all branches of the Embassy and the Consulate General to work in Russia with the entire range of Belarus-made products and cover all spheres: construction, supplies of dairy and heavy machinery products, projects in the scientific and cultural spheres, and so on. I aim to ensure that this is how the work is structured," Mr. Rogozhnik said.
Speaking about promising areas for co-operation, the diplomat noted, “Mechanical engineering is now a driver of economic growth not only in the Republic of Belarus, but also in the Russian Federation. A number of projects are being implemented at the expense of a credit line of 105bn Russian Roubles allocated by the Russian side to upgrade capacities and launch new high-tech industries. The roadmap that was signed in the field of microelectronics is an example of how co-operation in other areas should be built. We have signed such roadmaps in the field of aircraft and machine tool construction as well, and we are now developing another pool of projects, including in the field of aviation, which will guarantee the long-term smooth operation of our enterprises and, importantly, the return on investment that we will inject in the development of production facilities.”
The trade turnover between Belarus and Russia exceeded $25bn in six months, and Mr. Rogozhnik commented, “We see that it will grow further by the end of the year. We are still progressing slowly, but I hope the work that is being conducted in our regions will yield results.”
