US to deploy additional combat aircraft in Romania
The US Ambassador to Romania, Kathleen Kavalec, said that Americans intend to deploy combat aircraft on Romanian territory in addition to those that perform the tasks of NATO air police, TASS reports
"Ambassador Kavalec conveyed the desire of the United States to continue to provide assistance to Romania for more effective protection of the national territory, including by deploying US Air Force combat aircraft in the country soon in addition to NATO air police missions,” the Romanian military department said in a statement.
It is also reported that Ms. Kavalec stressed that the United States is fully committed to strengthening the potential of Romania and NATO to protect and deter any aggression against the common allied territory on the eastern flank.
