Shmyhal: Ukraine, Romania agreed to expand ammunition production
Ukraine and Romania have signed a memorandum, which, among other things, implies the expansion of ammunition production – as stated by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, RIA Novosti reports
As informed by Mr. Shmygal, a meeting was held in Kiev, and it was attended by the governments of Ukraine and Romania.
"A memorandum of understanding and co-operation [was concluded] between the Ukrainian Ministry of Strategic Industries and the Economy Ministry of Romania. It envisages building up defence capabilities: increasing production capacity and expanding the production of ammunition," the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
Earlier, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said that, together with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he signed a declaration on strategic partnership between Bucharest and Kiev. The Romanian leader also noted that his country will continue to support Ukraine.
