Lukashenko met with UAE Minister of Investment
During his working visit to the United Arab Emirates, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has met with Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, the UAE Minister of Investment, Managing Director at ADQ Investment Fund, BelTA reports
On the eve of his arrival in the UAE on a working visit, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he would like to discuss a number of issues in the relations between the two countries in a few days, meet with investors working in Belarus and investing in the country’s economy.
According to the Belarusian leader’s press service, Aleksandr Lukashenko has a number of meetings and negotiations planned in the UAE. During their holding, the main attention will be paid to the continuation and development of co-operation in trade-economic, investment, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest.
ADQ Holding Company is a public investment and development company based in Abu Dhabi. It was founded in 2018. As of 2023, the holding managed approximately $196bn in assets, making it the 10th largest sovereign wealth fund in the world. The goals and objectives of the holding company are to support economic growth and diversification, to invest in sustainable and innovative projects, and to expand the UAE’s global presence in strategic sectors.
Key investment areas include energy and utilities, food security and agriculture, transport and logistics, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, financial services, industry and mining.
