Lukashenko confirmed interest in AI co-operation with UAE
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has confirmed his readiness to develop co-operation in the field of artificial intelligence at a meeting with Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, the UAE Minister of Investment, Managing Director at ADQ Investment Fund, BelTA reports
“My interests are centred around AI and its development. Exactly the development, not the beginning. It is important for us, as it is for the whole world. I am very grateful to you for gladly agreeing to share your knowledge and experience in this area: both of your ministry and the experience of those specialists who deal with this problem,” the Head of State noted.
He stated that he would do everything to promote and develop this topic in Belarus, “There is a basis and there are people for this. I hope for the future.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that in previous years during his visits to the UAE he had various meetings and presentations focusing on high technology. “We talked a lot in general terms about AI, about how this damn AI is going to take over the world soon. And that’s something I personally had little confidence in. It turned out that your experts were right,” the President of Belarus said.
“I am absolutely sure that today’s meeting will end with a good, some kind endeavour for the economy, for the people of Belarus,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
