Sergeyenko: Belarus and Serbia can improve co-operation in all areas
Belarus and Serbia have a lot in common, said Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko at the meeting with the Serbian parliamentary mission today, October 29th, at the House of Representatives
The mission from Serbia included the National Assembly Vice Speaker Jovan Janjic, MPs from various political parties, including eight from the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Belarus, representatives from the Serbian business community and the clergy.
Mr. Sergeyenko noted the impressive size of the Serbian parliamentary group: 35 people in total. He also pointed out that the new convocation of the Serbian National Assembly first convened on March 20th, 2024, while the Belarusian Parliament – on March 22nd.
During the meeting, the Speaker thanked Mr. Dragomir Karich, Honorary Consul of Belarus in Belgrade, for his contribution to developing relations between Serbia and Belarus (the work that earned him a Commendation from President Aleksandr Lukashenko back in the day).
“It is great that you have augmented your mission with Serbian business representatives. I’m convinced that, despite external obstacles, Belarus and Serbia have lots of venues to improve their co-operation in trade, economy, humanitarian, and regional affairs,” emphasised Mr. Sergeyenko.
