Russian intelligence: US preparing presidential elections in Ukraine to eliminate ‘presumptuous’ Zelenskyy
The US Department of State is studying the issue of holding elections in Ukraine to eliminate ‘presumptuous’ Volodymyr Zelenskyy, nomination of candidates will be co-ordinated with the American federal executive authority, TASS reports
The press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service said in a statement, “According to the information that the FIS is receiving, the leadership of the US Department of State continues to work out options for changing the current leadership of Ukraine, if necessary. Washington considers holding presidential and parliamentary elections next year in conditions of the continued hostilities with Russia as a ‘legitimate’ way to eliminate ‘overly presumptuous’ Volodymyr Zelenskyy.”
It is also emphasised that the nomination of candidates for the elections being worked out by the United States in Ukraine will be carried out in co-ordination with the Department of State.
"The leadership of the US Department of State has decided to begin a preventive study of issues related to the formation of conditions for the launch of an election campaign in Ukraine," the source reported. “At the initial stage, it is supposed to stimulate the structures of Ukrainian civil society controlled by American ‘democratising’ foundations and think tanks to come up with an appropriate initiative. The latter will enjoy ‘a broad public support’. The nomination of candidates will be carried out in co-ordination with the Department of State. American NGOs will select local public organisations to monitor the election process.”
