Romania’s President called for greater US presence in the region
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said he was in favour of a more comprehensive US presence in the region, TASS reports
Klaus Johannis said, “We’re deeply committed to maintaining and strengthening the transatlantic relationships. We also want to increase the US presence in our region in all forms: military, economic, energy and political.”
According to the President of Romania, the country’s foreign policy has three pillars: Romania’s participation in the EU and NATO, as well as the strengthening and expansion of the strategic partnership with the US. He stressed the need to co-ordinate Romania’s foreign policy steps in the EU, to preserve the ‘reflex of European co-ordination’.
