Lukashenko urges Mogilev Region farmers to harvest 1.5m tonnes of grain and legumes
During today’s Dazhynki-202 regional festival-fair in Klimovichi, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko urged farmers of the Mogilev Region to produce one and a half million tonnes of grain and legumes
The Head of State stressed that this year the Mogilev Region has given the country 1 million 100 thousand tonnes of grain and legumes, “The Mogilev District has crossed the 100 thousand tonnes threshold. Almost 90 thousand tonnes were harvested in the Shklov District. Agricultural organisations such as Gazovik-Sipakovo, Rassvet named after Orlovsky, Zarya Agrokombinat, and Dobrovolets received yields of 50-60 quintals per hectare.”
The President also noted the good yield of rapeseed (almost 34 quintals per hectare) in the Kirovsk District, while in some farms this figure reaches 50 quintals. There are also leaders in fodder harvesting: Mushinoagro, Vendorozh and Kiselevichi state farm which have stocked from 52 to 75 fodder units per conditional head for the winter stall-feeding period.
“I’m saying this so that you understand that we have someone to look up to. These are our leaders. And we have to achieve 1.5 million tonnes of grain and legumes yield. Of course, we should also significantly increase milk and meat production,” Aleksandr Lukashenko set the task.
According to the President, the region relies on the development of fish farming. “You have undertaken an ambitious task to provide the country with valuable fish species and products from them. Then we will cover our own needs and provide a natural and guaranteed high-quality product for domestic consumption, as well as for export. We will successfully solve another import substitution task,” the Belarusian leader concluded.
