Lukashenko: theme of regional development should permeate coming five years
The theme of regional development should permeate the next five-year period – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Dazhynki-2024 regional festival-fair in Klimovichi
The Head of State stressed, “The number one task for now is to prevent the outflow of economically active population from the district. We need to provide people with interesting jobs.”
This can be done only through new production facilities and a serious improvement in the quality of life – so that people’s motivation and qualifications grow along with their salaries.”
At the same time, Aleksandr Lukashenko warned that there would be no homeless people and layabouts in the country. “Everyone should be active, work and earn money for themselves and their families. We will help. We will provide jobs, and people just need to work. We will deal seriously with those who prevent people from the normal lifestyle. Do not be offended then,” he stated.
Local authorities should create a maximum-favoured-nation regime for all responsible investors, and the President explained, “If a person wants to invest into production, then support them. Clear out where a financial support is needed and avoid red tape. Help in production facility creation, since our people will be employed there. All these measures are present in one way or another, but they are scattered and outlined in different documents. They need to be combined, updated, and made a priority national project.”
According to the Head of State, the President Administration has already been instructed to deal with these issues. “We will bring our legislation into an ideal state so that a person does not get embarrassed by various normative acts and does not look for how to organise something. This is a serious work for our specialists and scientists, and it is underway. We will finish it next year. The theme of regional development should permeate the coming five years. It is the regions, districts, and regions that will be the main focus. We should not concentrate people in the centre of our country, in Minsk and its suburbs. People should live all over the country,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
