Lukashenko suggests using technologies and solutions tested in Antarctica in real sector

The use of technological and design solutions tested in Antarctica in the real sector of the economy could promote high-tech production development – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s meeting with scientists and participants of the Belarusian Antarctic expeditions

The Head of State stressed that the Belarusian flag is now flying on the remote ice continent, “Only thirty countries are present in this region, including Belarus. Moreover, our county has its our own scientific research station – Gora [Mountain] Vechernaya with the necessary infrastructure and modern scientific laboratories – there. Importantly, the most advanced technological solutions – which are ours, Belarusian – have been implemented there. We boast a serious scientific and production potential.”

The equipment used has been developed by Belarusians for the application in extreme conditions. As noted by the Head of State, some technologies and tools are unique and have no analogues in the world. “We need to learn how to use them,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “Everything should generate profit. I believe that the technological and design solutions and materials tested in Antarctica would be good to use in various industries. We should think of how your research can be applied in the real sector right now. This will contribute to the development of competencies and related areas, and will also stimulate high-tech production.”

The President considers it very important that Belarus continues to actively co-operate with other countries in the development of Antarctica – ‘especially with Russia, and especially now, when the difficult geopolitical situation requires the search for new areas of co-operation and making effective decisions to promote creative initiatives’.
