“Even before the start of the work, communicating with colleagues and friends, we came to the conclusion that this is a very useful traditional event, enabling us to share opinions and discuss urgent issues. Top sports circles from our two countries have gathered in Ufa: from Olympic champions to business representatives. This event is a unique platform to discuss key topics in the area of physical culture, professional and mass sports,” Viktor Lukashenko noted.
He stressed that it is necessary to use this unique opportunity in this difficult time for sports.
“We can safely look into each other’s eyes and share the impressions and opinions that have developed over the past year since the previous forum,” the NOC President added.
As part of the event, an expanded meeting of the Athletes’ Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) was held, involving the Athletes’ Commission of Belarus’ NOC, Russian Olympic Committee President Stanislav Pozdnyakov, External Adviser to the Russian PM Oleg Matytsin. Belarus’ Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk is also taking part in the forum.
