Lukashenko on Orsha District: several steps need to be made from here to develop villages as a whole

The decisions taken on the development of agricultural production in the Shklov and Orsha districts should become a precondition for further steps to modernise and develop villages as a whole – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during his working trip to the Shklov District today

Referring to the situation in the Shklov District, the Head of State recalled that there had been many problems in the past, but the reform began actually from there. As regards the Orsha District, the Belarusian leader stated, “I think the Orsha District in the Vitebsk Region is the most promising one, so the way it functions is unacceptable. We have gathered today with this in mind – so that to take several steps from here to modernise and develop villages as a whole.”

A very good crop and livestock production base has been created in the Orsha District, and it is to be used for effective work. Meanwhile, as noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, it is no need to destroy what has already been created in certain regions and farms when developing a new rural development strategy. The Belarusian leader called on all participants of the meeting in Shklov to determine the methods of increasing the efficiency of agricultural production using the example of two districts: Shklov and Orsha.
