Lukashenko met with Belarusian ladies who are preparing to fly into space

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has met today with the Belarusian ladies who are preparing to fly into space, BelTA reports

The main participant of the upcoming space flight, Marina Vasilevskaya, and her understudy Anastasia Lenkova visited the Palace of Independence to meet with the Head of State. The ladies are undergoing training at the Yuri Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Centre. The space flight is expected to take place this year.

Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated the space programme participants on the New Year and Christmas, presenting flowers and wristwatches. “These are for you in case you get times mixed up. But I have set the exact Belarusian time," the Head of State smiled.

"Well, shall we fly? Or have you changed your mind?" the President asked.

The ladies confidently stated that their plans have not changed, and a flight into space will definitely take place.

"We will be waiting for you here," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The President asked whether the main participant and the understudy are training under the same programme, and this is so. "The most important thing is that there should be no jealousy. You will not get lost anyway. You have been chosen out of millions of ladies,” he noted.
