Lukashenko: for there to be peace, we need to work really hard

In order for the country to enjoy peace, it is necessary to work hard – as noted by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his today’s conversation with residents of Vishov, Belynichi District

The Head of State recalled that, just 25-30 years ago, many people proposed dividing collective farms and state farms and distributing everything they had among farmers. He was also accused of helping collective farms, since he was allegedly burying money.

The Belarusian leader explained why he has always adhered to this stance, “I am rendering assistance since he [the head of a farm] is responsible not only for the farm, but also streets, villages, pensioners. We should not also forget about the chairman of a village council. That is why I help collective farms, state farms, because they perform my role here. It is not the job of a farmer, but of the state. He [the head of a farm] is actually a statesman as well, performing a state function. So I have not moved away from this direction.”

At the same time, Aleksandr Lukashenko gave an example where such a practice was not supported, “Those who contributed to the destruction are fighting today, and even the land there belongs not to their farmers, but masters from across the ocean. We also experienced that, so we interfered to take it away. In order for there to be peace, we need to work really hard.”
