Lukashenko congratulated people of Czech Republic on national holiday

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the people of the Czech Republic on the national holiday — the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

“The history of constructive co-operation between our countries goes back many decades. Contacts between people of different professions, ages, religions and social status have always been its distinctive value,” the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State expressed confidence that the artificial barriers created by current Western politicians under the slogans of democratisation and protection of national interests have nothing to do with the real pressing concerns of the population. “You have been able to see this many times recently,” the President noted.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that Belarusians have never posed a threat to anyone. “The main goal for us has always been to preserve peace and harmony in the common European home. This can be achieved only without dictates, ultimatums and illegal restrictions, recognising the right of each nation to self-determination and choice of its own path of development,” the Belarusian leader pointed out. “I believe that in the near future we will be able to unite and return to normal work, implementing concrete projects in the economic and humanitarian sectors.”

The President wished all Czechs harmony, happiness and prosperity and invited them to visit Belarus.
