Lukashenko congratulated people and President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Independence Day

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and the Pakistani people on the national holiday: Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

"Our countries have been developing co-operation based on partnership and trust for many years. This year we have celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, held a number of bilateral events, which, I am sure, will contribute to the prosperity of Belarus and Pakistan," the President’s congratulation to Asif Ali Zardari reads.

In his congratulatory message to Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Belarusian leader thanked for the support of Belarus' accession to the SCO and confirmed his readiness for further fruitful work on international platforms. "I am confident that the organisation of joint events outlined during our conversation in Astana will allow us to begin a new stage in the development of bilateral relations," the Head of State stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed hope for meetings with the leaders of Pakistan during his visit to Islamabad and discussion of steps to further expand mutually beneficial co-operation between the two states.

The President of Belarus wished the leaders of this country good health and success, also wishing good luck, peace and progress to Pakistan.
