State Border Committee: propaganda of Belarus’ neighbours aimed at justifying militarisation that is taking place on the border
The propaganda of the neighbouring side is carried out with the purpose of justifying the militarisation that is taking place on the border with Belarus – as noted by the official representative of the State Border Committee, Anton Bychkovsky, during the Minsk-Moscow Union State live streaming
Mr. Bychkovsky noted that there are concrete blocks and even the so-called ‘dragon teeth’ at some checkpoints of Belarus’ western neighbours. “They are placed somewhat deep in the territory of neighbouring states, so visually we cannot always observe them. However, the media of our neighbours actively talk about the alleged need to be ready to repel an attack from Belarus or the Union State. They demonstrate that they seem to be afraid of us. We draw a simple conclusion: this is nothing more than propaganda by the neighbouring side aimed at justifying the militarisation that is taking place in the border area with Belarus,” he stated.
Mr. Bychkovsky added that heavy security is being ensured by Belarusian border guards, “They are armed with additional protective equipment. Everything is available, including weapons and vehicles. The main task is to monitor possible provocations from the adjacent territory.”
