Lukashenko: Belarus’ success relies on contribution of everyone

Speaking at the Minsk regional Dazhynki-2024 festival in Volozhin today, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko made a special emphasis on the fact that the country's achievements are made up of everyone's contribution

The Head of State stressed, “The success of our country is always a collective effort, and this will be ever so. Our impressive republican loaf of this year is a joint merit of our six regions.”

At the same time, the President noted the significant contribution of the Minsk Region, “It has harvested the most in 2024: 2.5m+ tonnes cereals and legumes, corn and rapeseed. You have grown a quarter of all grain, which makes a half of what Belarus harvested in the mid-1990s.”

The Head of State drew attention to the fact that the average grain yield (together with corn) in the region reached almost 44 dt/ha – ‘more than in neighbouring European countries’, “Moreover, the best farms in the region — Gastellovskoye, Snov, Gritskevichi and Pyatigorye — have harvested about 100 dt/ha and even more, which is already the level of world leaders.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the harvesting of potatoes, corn and forage crops is being completed in the region. The winter crops were sown on time. In his opinion, winter barley proved to be excellent, with the harvest yield of 45 dt/ha. The President stressed, “Increasing its acreage 1.5-fold was the right decision. You are also doing well in corn growing, its volumes are the largest in the county.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes that proper work with feed immediately produces good results in animal husbandry. At the same time, the Head of State focuses on a higher result, pointing to specific examples. “By the end of the year, 7 thousand kilograms of milk will be produced from a cow, and this will be a very good result, but you are capable of being even more productive. Apart from the flagships of the processing industry in the Minsk Region – such as Dzerzhinsky agro-combine, Smolevichi Broiler, Veles-Meat and others – there are still enough enterprises that can easily take on some increased obligations,” he noted.

The Head of State set tasks for the region for the next year, “[You should reach] at least 3 million tonnes (and steadily reach 3.5 million tonnes within the next five years) of cereals, legumes, corn and rapeseed. This figure looks achievable for you. The agricultural machinery and feed in the region where Belaruskali and the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation are located should be truly exemplary.”
