Lukashenko: Belarus ready for elections and ready to respond to any provocations
Belarus is ready for elections and is ready to respond to any provocations – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko in an interview with Izvestia on the side-lines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, BelTA reports
"We do not exclude that there may be some insinuations, provocations and so on, but the situation [like the one that happened in 2020] will never repeat,” the Head of State said. “We will not allow this, because we know who is doing it. Not so long ago, thanks to Mike Pompeo [former CIA Chief and Head of the US Department of State], whom I met. He came to Belarus. On meeting [Russian prankers] Vovan and Lexus later, he stated, “True, we failed to realise a colour revolution in Belarus.”
"What other evidence is needed to confirm the interference into our elections and an attempt to turn the country upside down? As President, I had to defend it, and I was doing that. We have defended it, so we are ready for the elections and ready to respond to any provocations," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
