Journalists from eight countries covering Slavianski Bazaar events

The international press centre of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk has started its work today, and Gleb Lapitsky, the Director General of the Vitebsk Cultural Centre and the festival’s head, said the media are demonstrating a great interest in the forum

“More than 460 journalists from eight countries have been accredited at the festival this year. In general, more than five thousand guests and participants from 35 states have gathered in Vitebsk, and this high interest shows that the festival lives on –despite everything. It is developing and transforming from a cultural brand into business and tourist ones. This year, the festival has already become an educational brand. It is important that not only the festival directorate and Vitebsk are filled with this atmosphere – but the whole of Belarus,” Mr. Lapitsky said.

The kaleidoscope of the most significant events of the day includes the Star opening ceremony of a winner of the Special Award of the President of the Republic of Belarus (Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding) – Yelena Spiridovich, the concert of the Slavianski Bazaar grand opening with the participation of Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko, as well as various exhibition projects.
