Foreign Ministry declared strong protest over the launch of Ukrainian drone on Belarus’ territory
The Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus, Igor Kizim, was summoned to the Foreign Ministry and was declared a strong protest in connection with the purposeful launch of an unmanned aerial vehicle from Ukraine to the territory of Belarus – as sb.by was reported by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry’s press service
The above-mentioned Ukrainian drone on January 24th this year illegally crossed the state border of Belarus, was detected in the airspace of our country and was subsequently forced to land by specialists of the Armed Forces. According to the analysis of on-board equipment data, it was confirmed that it was launched from Ukraine to carry out illegal reconnaissance activities over the Brestsky training ground.
“It has been brought to the attention of the Ukrainian side that through these unfriendly steps, Ukraine is deliberately fuelling an escalation of the situation in the region, which does not contribute to a civilised bilateral dialogue. The Belarusian side demanded that such destructive actions be prevented in the future,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
