Expert on British PMs' request to stop escalation: this is real fear
Talking to STV TV channel, Doctor of Political Sciences, Moscow State University professor Andrey Manoylo explained why some members of the British Parliament asked the British Prime Minister and the US President to stop escalating the conflict in Ukraine
After Kiev had used British-made long-range Storm Shadow missiles against Russia, six British MPs, together with heads of some large labour unions and other public figures, signed an open letter to US President Joe Biden and British PM Keir Starmer, asking them to stop escalating the Ukrainian conflict.
“I believe they can guess that Russia used the Oreshnik missile as but one example of many military technologies and weapons the West does not know about. They have never been used in real combat,” the expert explained.
“This glimpse of rational thought has been brought about by real, specific fear. It’s one thing to finance the war in Ukraine from a safe distance by helping the Kiev regime stay in power. It’s completely different when an Oreshnik falls into your garden in response for weapons supplies. Quite a difference, and those who signed the letter, understand that,” he added.
