As noted by the Deputy Prime Minister, the progress is evident. During a visit of Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to Yekaterinburg in 2023, agreements were signed on the joint development and organisation of serial production of a 2-engine 19-seater aircraft in the Republic of Belarus by Belarus-based 558 Aviation Repair Plant JSC and Russian Ural Civil Aviation Plant JSC.
"We are now jointly developing and creating this aircraft. We are conducting R&D, and this part is funded by the Russian Federation on 50/50 terms: based on the R&D results, we will have documentation for the aircraft production," Mr. Parkhomchik said, adding that this task is very difficult. "We should produce the first two aircraft by 2026, and it is very important that an order has already been placed with us: by 2030, we are to produce at least 85-100 planes. This number may be larger if we successfully complete the tasks set.”
According to Mr. Parkhomchik, the business plan has been approved. "The 558 Aircraft Repair Plant in Baranovichi will be developed. We will have to build 20,000 square metres of additional production facilities and purchase about a hundred units of highly complex equipment. This work is underway," he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister promised that everything will not just be carried out within the agreed schedule, but all possible effort will be made to ensure the completion of the project ahead of time.
