Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is returning from the CIS informal summit in Russia due to a plane crash, TASS reports
The press service of the Azerbaijani leader said that Aliyev expressed condolences in connection with the plane crash in Aktau. He also ordered an investigation into the causes of the AZAL plane crash and took the matter under his control.
As previously reported, an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane o flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. A fire broke out at the scene of the emergency. Out of 67 passengers, including the crew, 25 people survived. There were no citizens of Belarus on board the aircraft. 150 employees and 45 units of equipment are working at the scene. The number of injured is being clarified, while the investigation into the causes of the crash continues.
